The environmental damage cause by the construction of the panels FAR EXCEEDS their value as a non-polluting source of energy.

It's time to get real when evaluating 'green' technologies.

As far as the CD/ping-pong thing, seems pretty clever to me. I think the best way to use them is to see how many it takes to boil water when all are concentrated on a small glass. If you can do it, you can then scale it up for home use, using a boiler (thermal/steam) to power your home.

Cheers,
Jason
cga_cj [at] hotmail [dot] comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16975230.post-20043891470912411342008-02-26T23:18:00.000+05:302008-02-26T23:18:00.000+05:30Mridul! We haven't talked for so long, and I decided to come back to read your energy blog.

I like your ideas, and I think this is a great way of applying the 2nd R in the 3-Rs: Reduse Reuse Recycle. Keep the ideas flowing, I think you'll become a great inventor!Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00964545617851956317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16975230.post-34483636528220781922007-04-22T12:52:00.000+05:302007-04-22T12:52:00.000+05:30Great idea, but i am trying to figure out how the ...Great idea, but i am trying to figure out how the device is going to track the sun for the whole day?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16975230.post-8213463893982766122007-03-23T22:27:00.000+05:302007-03-23T22:27:00.000+05:30I think it would be interesting to explore homemad...I think it would be interesting to explore homemade and cheap methods to harness the energy that the CD's are concentrating. Even if the application was tiny (say, power a small LED, to start), it would be an excellent demonstration of "home" solar power potential.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05309679391213122623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16975230.post-43776505581629074762007-02-11T13:15:00.000+05:302007-02-11T13:15:00.000+05:30i know but what can the so call splar thing can do...i know but what can the so call splar thing can doAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16975230.post-8594221401209588472006-11-27T16:04:00.000+05:302006-11-27T16:04:00.000+05:30Harnessing the enrgy from the sun is the best alte...Harnessing the enrgy from the sun is the best alternative and renewable source of energy.
